The Great Decent

Behind the smile lies a broken man
Once riddled with his emotions
His love for her he thought was dying
Never knew he would be the one who’s crying.

Behind the laughter is sorrow
A feeling longing to pass
As I fall in times of rapture
A feeling longing to last

It’s better off being this way
Free of troubles holding you back,
Now forward to do as you please
No one there to bring you to you’re knees

You’re better off being alone
Or so you say
Now empty and weak
As you wish to stay

Lost

Lost with only myself to turn to,
My words wishing to exhale,
Choked back for your benefit
As this affiliation grows frail

My heart bleeds my love for you,
Leaving this feeling bare,
Feeling trapped with my affections
Turning my thoughts into despair

I walk away, sick of the silence,
Wishing there was another way,
But this is something I have to do
And now all hope turns grey

The Vailed

There’s another side to me
That I keep locked away
Forever fearful, to slip up one day.

A side that you don’t see
Now beginning to dilate
As I begin to fear it’s too late

A dark sub-conscience
Hidden in the corner of my mind,
Trying to leave my past behind

Hidden behind a smile
Trying to deceive
Feelings overwhelm as I begin to grieve

This side of me
That’s locked away
Hidden from you,
Hidden this day…

Disaster On A Cold Night

A gathering of friends to ease the pain,
Perhaps a drink or two involved.
Set out to put my mind to rest,
But what was to happen, who could have foretold?
No one will ever know.

Now sitting here, her head pressed in my lap
As the bitter cold of the night crushes my body
Wanting to help an old friend in a time of need
Set to only watch as scavengers begin to feed.
But no one will ever know.

The cold drilling through my skin
As I give up my coat to help keep her warm
Feeling helpless to help others
Only able to watch, as other events of ruin dawn
Yet no one will know.

Disaster to tragedy
Friends to foes
And through it all
My only aim to help those close to me.

Now broken down, my head pressed into her
Already torn with thoughts of anxiety
And in the silence of the night
No one will know,
…Why I, cry

The Nightmare

Trapped within these walls
Scared of the threat outside,
I hear them cry as the dust they breath in toxins their bodies,
Many wait the forthcoming ruin
As the smell of plague grows stronger.

We foretold of this nightmare
Corruption and death, seeping into the world
But we made no attempt to correct it
The scales where overthrown.

We are the architects of our own destruction
And as the days cease to exist
Death is our only prosperity.

Angst

Lost in thought, of a false ambition
Questioning these words of new fancy,
Wondering whether the feelings neutral?
Or if this is just another lost cause.

Bringing me back to feelings once forgotten,
Hidden behind the lies and deceit.
Desolation beginning to overwhelm
As I am bound by these laws.

Why do I feel this for you?
What happened that night?
Is it this feeling of amity, which I fight?

Fooling myself into a state of apathy,
A state without distress, without delight.
Only to have this disposition defeated
To confront what I invite.

I have felt this far too often
Trying to black out the past completely
Escape the feelings that drag me down,
Escape from this ghost.

But now I feel this failing
And again I feel fearful
For amity is what I anticipate,
What I fear the most.

Laid To Rest

A swelling at first,
Nothing but a splinter buried under the skin
Still in controle of the base within

It starts to grow
The splinter now a thorn, lodged within the bone
As questions rise as I lower my tone

Consuming me
This feeling down inside,
Eating the skin, taking my pride
As futile attempts
To stop this from becoming
Make it worse, make it cunning

Beating
Ripping
My head is sore
Cheating
Slipping

Fusing me more
The pain has stopped,
The swelling gone down
A smile on my face whilst wearing a frown

Turning my back
On friends I once had
Now as enemies, feeling more glad

What has come to surpass?
To make me feel this way
To change my life, lead me astray
A new reasoning
From within my mind
Laid me to rest leaving me blind?

The ascend of a self within
Eating my bliss, mending its sin

Dark Horizons

Bring me back to that room
That cage, where I once lay.
A darkened corner
Filling my mind with hurt

Anxiety, passion,
It all feels so similar
As thoughts of a dark horizon keep me alert

Nothing but a bitter memory
Now fragile and stained
Never forgotten
Brought back once again

You wake this affliction
Re-open the wound
Bringing back this emotion, of torment and pain

And as the blood gushes out
Smothering my thoughts with its crimson red
Turning my sanity into thoughts of dread
I turn away from you.

Bring me back to that room
that cage, where I once lay.
It all feels so similar
I feel it everyday

Malaise

This divine image in my dream
Only a stale nightmare in my conscience
And when all love has no meaning
I turn my back on the world I once knew

Your empty words beginning to hurt
Leaving the scar of an immoral day
Begging forth these feelings of anxiety
Leaving nothing but a shallow grave
